Deck The Homes
Holiday Decorating Contest
2017 

Village of Solvay residents were invited to decorate the exterior of their homes with colorful lights, wreaths, scenery and other decorative ornaments during the holiday season for a chance to win cool prizes!

Judging ends December 25, 2017



Criteria: 

• Most Unique/Creative

Unique designs and creative use of decorations!

• Most Traditional

Display and placement of "traditional" decorations!

• Best Theme

Display depicts a storyline or consistent theme!

• Best Overall Presentation

Displays the best overall presentation!

• The National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation Award 

The wackiest, most outlandish decorations!

Prize packs from local businesses!

Winners in each category will also receive up to $50.00 of their December 2017 Solvay Electric Bill paid!

Solvay Citizens Action Group member, Derek Bryant, has been working hard on designing bike paths leading from the Loop the Lake trail to connect to Solvay! Below is an article featured on Syracuse.com:

Village resident and Solvay Citizens Action Group member,  Derek Bryant,  has been working to create a Bike Lane Plan as a way to connect the Village of Solvay to the coming "Loop the Lake" trail currently under construction around Onondaga Lake.  The green line on the first map indicates where we've discussed adding lanes of connections -  however it was brought up at our last meeting that bridge street may not be the most safe route... 
We've discussed alternate routes as well. The other graphic helps to depict what the "Loop the Lake" trail will  look like as it nears completion. 

Join us for the next Solvay Citizens Action Group Meeting on Thursday January 24th at 7:00pm at the Solvay Public Library (Community Room). 

All Solvay, Lakeland and Geddes residents are welcome to attend!
